The Beach

Our little family took a 5 day vacation to Port Aransas Texas.  Ok, so I shouldn't say we 'take vacations' anymore because you people with kids know that there are is not such a thing as a vacation anymore.  With kids, its called a 'trip' -- too much work to be called a vacation...

Anywho, Matt played at his friends 25th wedding anniversary down there, so we just decided to seize the moment and make it a little get away for the family.  This was Parker's first time at the beach.  We had so much fun.  The only thing I regret is that I didn't take more pictures.

This is a picture that I took from a moving car.  Good, 'eh?

Parkers first moments at the beach!  He was totally not afraid of the ocean, which if you know him, is totally not his style.  My husband threatened to tell him that the ocean 'eats little children' to get him to calm down!  haha..

Building sandcastles with daddy!

Cute kid, right?!

LOVE

We went to the USS Lexington.  Matt and Parker thought it was cool, I did not.  It was 200 degrees.

Future Blue Angel?!

You can't go to the beach without a 'family in the sharks mouth' pic...

Swim, Swim, Swim

Parker is taking swim lessons this summer.  This is something that I want him to learn early, as I don't have this skill.  I want him to be comfortable in the water and not be afraid of it (like his momma!)
Here are some of the pictures that I snapped during his two weeks of lessons!

Below are pics of him with his swim friend Ann Marie!

(LOVE this picture, he is actually smiling!)

The last two weeks he has learned so much!  He hated having water splashed in his face, let alone submerge his head underwater.  He is now A LOT more comfortable with going under water and has learned to kick properly!  He also has discovered that he loves to swim on his back!  Videos below...

Turning 4

I can't believe I have a 4 year old!  Guess the old saying is true, time flies when you are having fun!
Parker had a birthday a couple of weeks ago, and here are some of the pictures that I shot from the festivities!

These are from the day before his birthday (June 17th).  We decided to give him one of his presents early, because frankly, we needed something new for him to do.

(p.s. if anyone is reading this and wants to HELP ME WITH MY CAMERA, I'd appreciate it!)

The next day, I kept him home from school, and we went to a bounce house place, at lunch with Daddy at his favorite place Chick Fil A, and opened present and had cupcakes!

From the above pictures, I was trying to get a picture of him on his birthday holding up 4 fingers.  lol.  But then I got silly picture (which I like even better!)
Side note, I got that cute shirt from The Children's Place and he decided he was scared of it.  So, I named the monkey FRED, and now he will wear it.  Go figure :-)

That next Saturday was his birthday party.  Superheroes!

Here is a close up of the handmade capes that I had made for all of his friends!

A superhero cake with fireworks, of course!

Thanks to all who came and made his birthday so great!
